The team at KMCC is dedicated to assisting people find work on board luxury cruise liners and help them have the adventure of a life time. We are a team of individuals who have all worked on board cruise ships and know first hand about the experience you are about to have. Karen Maybury was a Cruise Director for many years and has an extensive background in entertainment. Dani was a Crew Purser and Guest Services Manager and Rich has worked on board as a DJ, Assistant Cruise Director and Entertainment Manager. We also have David Hitchen who brings years of shipboard experience to the KMCC family!

Meet The Team

Karen Maybury

Former Cruise Director and Entertainment Director. With twenty years of shipboard experience Karen always enjoyed mentoring and training her team members and is familiar with all aspects of cruise ship life. Now overseeing the KMCC operation Karen also focuses on her life as a producer and still spends time on board ships installing shows and checking in on KMCC recruits.

Rich Maybury

Assistant Cruise Director and DJ. Rich spent 6 years in the entertainment department and travelled internationally with Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruise Lines. Rich enjoyed entertaining people and overseeing team members and is the face of the team and is based at our UK office in Lancaster UK. Although most of our interviews are over Skype whenever possible Rich meets people in person and enjoys attending various recruitment fairs and keeping uptodate with the ever changing industry of cruise ships!

Dani Kuysten

A Recruiting Specialist for Cruise Ships for over 10 years now and joined KMCC in 2016.

After earning her Degree in Business and Tourism she worked/lived in Chicago (U.S.A) and Paris (France) before she joined Royal Caribbean International as part of the Pursers Department onboard – starting at the Front Desk and working her way up to Crew Relations Specialist/HR completing 7 years in total. Whilst doing this she was fortunate enough to see some of worlds’ most amazing places!

Moving back ‘on land’ first in Manchester (England) and later in Montpellier (South of France) she started recruiting for the Cruising Industry finding great pleasure in assisting people starting their own cruising career and adventure!

David Hitchen

Is been a professional trumpet player for over 30 years, performing worldwide, including the orchestras of Monte Carlo, and as Musical Director on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.

During his time with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, in addition to his Musical Director duties, David played lead trumpet in the orchestra, directed headliner shows, and played regularly for the production shows.

During his career, when David was not busy touring the world as a commercial musician, he featured regularly at jazz clubs and festivals across Europe, performing with jazz legends including Phil Woods, James Morrison, and Bobby Shew.

David now lives in Southern France where he performs regularly as a soloist on the French Riviera, and also with the Glenn Miller Memorial Orchestra, and the world renowned BBC Big Band. He also directs his own big band, and has become very busy as a composer/arranger.

David is very pleased to be a member of Karen Maybury’s team, enabling him to afford the same wonderful opportunities to other people, that he himself enjoyed !

Rob Woolfe

Head of Entertainment and Casting

Rob Woolfe has been in the performing arts industry for over 15 years having performed internationally with the cruise industry, Theatre and Theme parks. He recieved his degree at Cambridge Performing Arts at the Bodywork dance studios in 2007.
As a previous performing artist at Universal Studios Singapore , Rob moved into the creative team in 2019, where he was fortunate enough to co-direct and choreograph shows such as Halloween Horror Nights 9, Singapore’s First Wine awards, RWS NYE gala and parade, USS in-house production shows and his biggest project to date Chinese New year at RWS.
Having to leave Singapore in 2020 due to the pandemic ,he returned to the UK and his first passion of gymnastics, where he successfully ran Satellite Gymnastics club in the Cambridge area.
As the entertainment industry slowly made its come back, Rob met Karen (Karen Maybury Webb Creative) developing a beautiful friendship and working relationship, where he’s able to bring his creativity and experience.
Since joining the team, Rob has been in overseeing casting and was the choreographer for the sailaway and theme nights on board Jimmy Buffet’s “Margaritaville at Sea Paradise” cruise ship. He is excited for the new exciting projects soon to be released with Maybury Webb Creative team.

Christopher Escamilla

Christopher has represented several “World’s Best” entertainment organizations, working with top Broadway and Hollywood talent. He is a thought leader respected for his ardent balance of equality, inclusivity and diversity through artistic relationships and community outreach. With over 20 years of production management and talent care experience, he nurtures relations and projects with genuine care. He served as Executive Producer / General Manager for the award-winning entertainment department of Crystal Cruises. During his tenure, he nurtured and advanced the multi-stage demands of talent and content through collaborative development and engagement activities. A list of his ground-breaking partnerships includes The Actors Fund, The Music Center of Los Angeles, Center Theatre Group, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, USC School of Cinematic Arts, Polk & Company on Broadway, Actors and Others for Animals, The Shambala Preserve presented by Tippi Hedren and The Roar Foundation. With his hands-on approach to the care of talent, he has written and produced cabaret shows to highlight the underrepresented talents of senior citizens (Karen Morrow in Life Upon The Wicked Stage; Everything Old Is New Again starring Kit Smythe), soaring Hispanic and Black voices (Front and Center: Belting Broadway’s Best), the Asian-American experience (Memoirs of a Broadway Asian starring Sandra Allen) and LGBTQ+ presence (Fabulous! featuring the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles). He expanded the scope and impact of these programs through education and enlightenment initiatives including guided Q&A Talk Backs, progressive lecture series, interactive awareness activities and up-close-and-personal social events. His work in the arts, however, began long before cruise ship entertainment. He served as public relations host for Universal Studios and was scouted by The Shubert Organization to assist with public relations events and casting projects. With passion and compassion, he volunteers time working with The Music Center of Los Angeles and its acclaimed Spotlight program which nurtures the next generation of young artists.
